My Favorite Sweater Dress Outfit

Sweater Dress: BP | Cardigan: Leith (sold out), similar here | Wool Hat: Rag & Bone | Boots: Steve Madden | Crossbody Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

Today is an exciting day because 1) it’s Friday and 2) it’s the first official day of fall! To be completely honest, I’ve been pretending like it was officially fall since September 1st. In my mind, the first day of fall starts when Starbucks brings back the Pumpkin Spice Latte! My house is already decorated for fall, my caramel pumpkin swirl candle has been burning, I’ve been stocking up on fall clothes, and I even got my first fall manicure two weeks ago (OPI Malaga Wine…it’s so pretty!) So now that it is “officially” fall, I can start sharing my favorite fall outfits with you all!

The look that I am sharing today is my favorite sweater dress outfit. I found this choker sweater dress online at Nordstrom and I ordered it immediately! Not only do I love the choker trend, but I also love sweater dresses. This dress is under $50 and comes in 3 colors. I seriously might have to buy the other 2 colors because I love this dress THAT much. Sweater dresses are soo comfy and cozy and I live in them during the fall and winter.

I love the look of this sweater dress on its own, but I like it even more paired with a burgundy open cardigan. Burgundy is one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall, and I love the way it pairs with gray.

My floppy hat obsession is real. I have floppy hats in every “fall” color and that still isn’t enough for me! I have my eye on this one and this one. Hats are such a fun accessory because they add a little style and edge to your look. I love how floppy hats look with curled hair. This is the curling wand I use to create my beach waves. If you want to see exactly how I curl my hair and what products I use to make it last for days, check out my YouTube video here.

Over the knee boots are my FAVORITE shoe for fall. I would seriously wear these boots with every single outfit but I don’t want to wear them out too quickly! OTK boots make any outfit look 10x better and more stylish. You could pair some ankle booties with this outfit for a more casual look, and throw on your OTK boots for a dressier look at night. I can’t say enough good things about OTK boots, so if you don’t have a pair by now you need to get yourself some! Nordstrom Triple Points is going on through the 24th, so I just ordered these OTK boots because I have wanted a gray pair for a while now. I can’t wait to get them in the mail and style them!

I hope you got some fall outfit inspiration from today’s look! Enjoy your weekend and the first official day of fall. I don’t know about you, but I will be enjoying a PSL (or two) this weekend 🙂

Fall Transition Outfit

Lace Cami: BP, similar here | Jeans: AG Jeans | Sweater: Halogen | Shoes: old, similar here | Clutch: Leith | Necklace: BaubleBar

I have been doing quite a bit of traveling to Chicago this summer for different events, and the weather was so incredibly beautiful there! Each time I visited it was in the mid 70s-80s during the day, and it would cool down quite a bit at night, to the point where I needed a sweater/jacket.

The outfit pictured above is what I wore on a date night with my hubby in Chicago! We went to our favorite steakhouse, Mastro’s, and it was the perfect outfit to wear to dinner. I love the lace trimmed cami because it can easily be dressed up or down. The cami is such a great transitional piece because it can be worn alone in the summertime, or paired with a sweater, leather jacket, etc. in the fall and winter.

I can’t say enough good things about these AG jeans! They are one of my top favorite purchases lately. These jeans are another great transitional piece because they are an ankle jean with a raw hem. I LOVE how the raw hem looks when you wear sandals or booties with these jeans. The hem detail makes these great jeans to wear year round! I will continue wearing these jeans into the fall and winter with riding boots, OTK boots, and even with my winter boots.

You will be seeing me in lots of long cardigans this fall! I absolutely love styling long cardigans, and I got this one along with a couple others from the NSale! I prefer long, oversized sweaters over shorter cardigans. This sweater is warm and cozy which is ideal for fall weather, and I think this neutral sweater is the perfect addition to any fall ootd! Just an FYI, this sweater runs big so make sure to order down a size or two.

What are your favorite summer to fall transition pieces? Let me know!
